The former prisoners “hired” by Wagner in Ukraine are back in the spotlight

Prisoners who have completed their contract with Wagner alive are gradually returning to Russia. The return to society of those who are now pardoned is in the spotlight, allowing Evgeny Prigokhine to further push his formalization agenda.

From our correspondent in Moscow,

Blood deserves forgiveness. How yesterday’s prisoners hired at Wagner become the heroes of the special operation. It is under this title that the newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda publishes this Wednesday the first interviews of former prisoners who return after their contracts. To describe the choice of an ex-convict for the manufacture and sale of psychotropic drugs, the newspaper writes the following: 180 days in a meat grinder against 12 years in prison “.

Evgueni Prigojine continues to highlight his fighters and therefore his recruitment strategy. This Wednesday, January 25, a voice message was published on his Telegram channel: the praise given by his superior officer to an ex-convicted combatant for a quadruple murder, father, mother and two children aged 11 and 15, targeted by Kalashnikov bursts , complete with an axe. The local press also publishes blurry images of the crime scene, but clear enough for us to guess bodies in a pool of blood.

As for Stan, what can I say? I remember it well. Last July, a strong man, about 60 years old, came to my platoon. “Describes the superior officer. ” I put him in a military squad, to bring ammunition. But after a few days, he joined an attack squad and, in the first assault, he jumped into a fortress first. So he gathered a group of three desperate old men like himself, old thieves, as we jokingly called them. They crept slowly at night. They instilled fear in the Ukrainians. In short, he is a smart man. He can see that he has a lot of life experience. He was badly wounded by shrapnel last November, but he wanted to stay on the front line. A man like him is worth a lot. Last September, Evgueni Prigojine already declared: “ Those who do not want to fight with mercenaries or prisoners, who do not like this issue, send their children to the front. It is them or your children, decide for yourself. »

The voices critical of this recruitment method have been in full swing: like regular army soldiers, Wagner ex-combatants could in the future also benefit from the law that punishes any disrepute of the army with up to 15 years in prison. In any case, the Duma will think about it.
